The annual June Days parade will be on Sunday, June 22nd at noon.  Parade entries are encouraged to sign up ahead of time.  Please call the Village Hall at 879-2004 to sign up.  Line up is at 11:00a.m. Sunday morning near Burtness Chevrolet.

Thursday, June 19, 2008 - Calkins Midway Open 6:00p.m. -10:00 p.m., Amusement Ride Wristband Night for $15.00, 7:00 p.m. Beer Tent Opens,   8:00 p.m. Orfordville IDOL Karaoke Night .

Friday, June 20, 2008 - Softball tournament kicks off,  10:00 a.m. Calkins Midway opens, Afternoon beer tent opens, 7:30 p.m. Little Vito & the Torpedos perform in the beer tent.

Saturday, June 21, 2008 - Softball tournament continues, 10:00 a.m. Calkins Midway opens, 12:00 noon beer tents will be open at Purdy Park and the Business Park, 1:00 p.m. Truck & tractor pulls at the Business Park, 2:00 p.m. International Tug of War at the football field, 4:00 p.m.  Dress rehearsal by the Green  Beret Band (behind the elementary school), 7:30 p.m.  IX Lives performs in the beer tent.

Sunday, June 22, 2008 - Softall tournament finals, 10:00 a.m. Calkins Midway opens, 11:00 a.m. Beer tents open at Purdy Park and the Business Park,  American Legion Post 209 Barbecue Chicken Dinner at Purdy Park, 12:00 noon Parade downtown, 1:00 p.m. Antique tractor pulls at the Business Park, 3:00 p.m. State Line Playboys perform at the beer tent at Purdy Park, Dusk - First Fireworks of the season!

There will be two opportunties to attend an open book session with the village assessor. Open Book will be held on Saturday, June 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m, and again on Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  This is an opportunity for village residents to discuss their assessments with the assessor in an informal setting.

Board of Review will be held on Monday, June 16, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Village Hall.    Board of Review is the next step if you do not agree with the assessor after open book.  To attend Board of Review, you must first fill out an objection form with the Village Clerk.  You will then be given an appointment to know what time to appear.   The objectors and the assessor are sworn in at Board of Review. The assessor has an opportunity to prove your valuation to the Board of Review.  The resident can then prove to the Board of Review how the assessor  is incorrect.

You can begin making reservations for the pavilion at Purdy Park on January 2, 2008.  The Village increased the deposit from $25.00 to $50.00 effective January 2, 2008.  If the park is left clean, the Village will refund $25.00 of your deposit.  The Village approved the increase to cover the cost and time involved with preparing the park and pavilion.  If you have an event scheduled, the trash cans are emptied, restrooms cleaned, trash is picked up, and picnic tables washed for your event. The $25.00 is applied to cover the cost.  Remaining costs remain in the parks department.  Please call the Village Hall at 879-2004 if you have any questions.
