Animal Licensing

    Q: Do I have to license my dog or cat?

    A: All dogs in the village that are five months or older must have a dog license every year. Dog licenses are due by April 1st each year. The cost for unaltered dogs is $8.00, altered(spayed or neutered) dogs cost $3.00 a year. A $5.00 late fee will be assessed for dogs licensed after April 1st of each year. You must bring proof of rabies vaccination with you when you purchase the dog license. The proof, from your veterinarian shows the tag number, the date of vaccination, and the vaccination expiration date. Licenses may be purchased at the Village Hall at 106 N. Center Street.

    There is no licensing requirement for cats.
Building Permits

    Q: When do I need to purchase a building permit?

    A: Building permits are required for new home construction, garages, storage sheds, all structure changes, electrical, and plumbing upgrades. You do not need a building permit if you are replacing items such as doors, windows, and siding. Please call the Village Hall at 608-879-2004 if you have questions regarding building permits.
Garbage & Recyling

    Q: Which day of the week does trash and recycling get picked up?

    A: Trash and recycling is picked up every Wednesday in the Village. Recycling must be in a recycling bin. Please call the Village Hall at 608-879-2004 or Veolia at 800-248-2373 if you have questions regarding trash and recycling.
Office Hours

    Q: What are the hours at the Village Hall?

    A: The Village Hall is open from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Open Records Request

    Q: How do I access public records?

    A: Forms are available at the Village Hall for public record requests. You should be specific about the information that you are requesting. The Village Clerk is the custodian of records and will respond to general open records requests. Requests made regarding police department records will be addressed by the Chief of Police.
Parks

    Q: How do I reserve the shelter house or ball diamond?

    A: To reserve Purdy Park's shelter house or ball diamond you must call the Orfordville Village Hall. The Village keeps a calendar with reserved dates. Although you may reserve the shelter and ball diamond, the park is still open to the public. To place a reservation on the calendar call 608-879-2004.
Water & Sewer Billing

    Q: What is the billing schedule for water & sewer usage?

    A: Water bills are mailed quarterly. Meters are read the first of March, June, September, and December, and are due the 20th of the following month.
Water & Sewer Billing

    Q: Where do I pay my water bill?

    A: Water bills can be paid at the Village Hall or Farmer's & Merchant's Bank. The bank can accept payments until the due date. Payments can be mailed to Village of Orfordville PO Box 409, Orfordville, WI 53576.
