COMMUNITY ROOM IS AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC USE

The Community Room at the Village Hall is available to use for events.   It is a great location to host family get togethers, baby or bridal showers, card clubs, coffee groups, etc.   There is a kitchenette and eight round tables that seat forty people.  Please call the Sherri at 608-879-2004 for more information.

 ORFORDVILLE LUTHERAN CHURCH LUTEFISK DINNER

    The Orfordville Lutheran Church at 210 N. Main Street will have their annual Lutefisk Dinner on Saturday, October 27th.  The dinner will start at 11:00 a.m. and go until 3:00 p.m.   This is a large fundraiser for the Lutheran Church.  We hope to see you there!

The yard waste site  hours have changed.  Unfortunately, the hours had to be restricted due to trees and junk being left at the site.   The site will now be manned by a Public Works Employee.  The new hours are  Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on Mondays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  The site is only open to residents of the Village of Orfordville.

 

PAVILION RESERVATION AT PURDY PARK

There are two pavilions available at Purdy Park to use for private functions.  You must reserve the pavilion ahead of time.  You can begin making reservations for 2018 on January 2, 2018.  There is a $50.00 deposit due when making the reservation.  You will get half of the deposit back if the pavilion is left in good order.  

 

Orfordville Fully Engulfed Chili Cook Off

Area Fire Departments will be participating in a chili cook off at Knutes Bar & Grill on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.   Six area departments will have chili that you can vote for.  There will also be a disc jockey outside during the cook off.    There will be things for kids to do at the vacant lot across from the Village Hall. There will be games, a bouncy house, hot chocolate, hot cider, and a display of police, fire, and public works equipment for the kids.   Its a perfect, lost cost way to spend a nice fall day. We hope to see you there!

 

Fall Election is on November 6, 2018

Polls will be open on Tuesday, November 6th from 7:00 a.m.. to 8:00 p.m. at 303 E. Beloit Street for voting.   Only residents that live in the village limits vote at the Village Hall.  You can start voting absentee in person ( early voting) on Tuesday, October 16th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Village Hall.    You must be registered to vote to vote in this election.   Check MyVote. wi.gov to see if you are registered.  You can also call the Village Clerk at 879-2004 if you have any questions.

 

Dog Licenses for 2018 are now available.  Altered dogs cost $3.00, unaltered dogs cost $8.00.  Please bring your vet information with you when you license your dog.  The information should show the date of vaccination, the rabies tag number, and the expiration date.   A $5.00 late fee will be assessed for licenses purchased after April 1, 2018.

DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENTS A special thank you to American Legion Post 209, Burtness Chevrolet, Eggleston Construction, the Lions Club, and the Farmers & Merchant's Bank for donating benches and a table to our new patio downtown.  Thank you to Swan Creek Construction (Titus Near) for donating his time to install the picket fencing and to Mike Eggleston of Eggleston Construction for donating his time to install all the benches and the table on the patio.   Be sure and stop down and relax on the new patio.  The Economic Development Committee continues to work  on upgrading the downtown.   We are excited to welcome Rose Peterson of Life in Pink Photography, to town.  Life in Pink Photography is located at 100 E. Spring Street.  Check out her work on her Facebook page!    We are happy that Kevin & Becca Wellnitz have purchased the former Donna's Gas & Grocery  at 204 W. Brodhead Street and look forward to the upgrades they will be making.  The Economic Development Committee is driven to draw business to the downtown and the Business Park.
