VILLAGE OF ORFORDVILLE

Regular Board Meeting

Monday, November 25, 2024  7:00 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER

                Village President Dennis Burtness called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Present were President Burtness, David Olsen, Beth Schmidt, Nikki Tuffree, and Terry Gerber.  Also present were Chief Jeremiah Burdick and Clerk Sherri Waege.   Absent were Cami Myers-Alstat and Terry Morris.

AGENDA VERIFICATION

                Clerk Waege verified that on November 22, 2024, copies of the agenda were delivered to the President and Trustees; and posted at the Village Hall, Library, and the Post Office.  There were no additions made to the agenda.

MINUTE APPROVAL

                Motion by Gerber, seconded by Tuffree to approve the November 11, 2024 minutes.  Motion carried.

CITIZENS WISHING TO BE HEARD

                None.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

                Chapter 1-5 General Provisions Violations and Penalties.   Chief Burdick explained that he met with Municipal Judge Russell Rucker to amend the Bond Schedule for fines.  The amendments were within the perimeters in the ordinance so there is no need to change the ordinance.  No action was taken.

                Developers Agreement.   President Burtness explained that Zach Knutson was not able to attend the meeting.  Motion by Gerber, seconded by Schmidt to table to the December 9, 2024 meeting.  Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

                Fee Schedule. The Fee Schedule was reviewed.  Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Gerber to approve the new Fee Schedule.  Motion carried.

                Personnel Policy.  President Burtness explained that he would like the Board Members to review the draft as provided at the meeting.   The item will appear on the agenda for one of the January meetings to allow time for review.  No action was taken.

TREASURER REPORT

                Motion by Gerber, seconded by Schmidt to approve the Treasurer’s Report.  Motion carried.

VOUCHERS

                Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Tuffree to approve the vouchers with a check range of

37743-37790.  Motion carried.

VILLAGE PRESIDENTS UPDATE

                President Burtness updated the Board on the following:

                *Saturday, December 7th at 5:00 pm, is the annual Christmas Parade

*The 26th Annual Children’s Christmas Benefit will be held at the Orfordville American Legion on Saturday, December 7, 2024. 

*Christmas at the Fire Station will be Sunday, December 15th, 2024, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

There will be popcorn, the movie “Polar Express” and hot chocolate!
