Regular Board Meeting

CALL TO ORDER

                President Dennis Burtness called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Present were President Burtness, David Olsen, Beth Schmidt, Cami Myers-Alstat,  Nikki Tuffree, and Terry Morris.  Also present were Chief Jeremiah Burdick, Librarian Sarah Strunz, and Clerk Sherri Waege.    Absent was Terry Gerber.

AGENDA VERIFICATION

                Clerk Waege verified that on January 10, 2025, copies of the agenda were posted at the Village Hall, Library, and the Post Office.  There were no additions made to the agenda.

MINUTE APPROVAL

                Motion by Morris, seconded by Tuffree to approve the December 23, 2024 Regular Board Meeting minutes.  Motion carried.

CITIZENS WISHING TO BE HEARD

                None.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

                None.

NEW BUSINESS

                Operator Licenses.  Motion by Olsen, seconded by Schmidt to approve the Polce Committee Recommendation to grant Operator Licenses to expire June 30, 2025 to Stella Goddess, Kelly Martin, Madison Palmer, and Elise Williams.  Motion carried.

                Draw Names for Ballot Placement.  Chief Burdick drew the names for Village Trustee for the April 1, 2025 Election.  The names will appear in the following order:  1.  Nick Howard 2.  Nikki Tuffree

3.  Beth M. Schmidt. 

                Ordinance 106-13 Protected Animals, Wild Animals, Livestock, and Fowl.   President Burtness explained that a person from out of state emailed the Village regarding having ferrets in the Village.   The person is moving to the Village this spring and didn’t realize that ferrets were not allowed in the Village.    President Burtness explained that he looked into it and learned that the State does not prevent having them.  President Burtness further explained that he looked at many other municipalities and only one other municipality prohibits having them.  Motion by Myers-Alstat, seconded by Tuffree to amend Ordinance 106-13 (c ) 12 by removing ferrets from the list of prohibited animals.  Motion carried.

DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS

                Motion by Morris, seconded by Myers-Alstat to approve.  Motion carried.

VOUCHERS

                Motion by Morris, seconded by Olsen to approve the vouchers with a check range of 37931-37960.  Motion carried.

ADJOURN

                Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Morris to adjourn at 7:14 p.m.  Motion carried.
