Regular Board Meeting

Monday, August 10, 2020  7:00 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER

                President Gary Phillips called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.   Present were President Phillips, Tina Suiter Meyers, Beth Schmidt Chuck Boyce, Terry Gerber, Nikki Tuffree, and Jason Knox.  Also present were Greg Landis, Chief Brian Raupp, Librarian Sarah Strunz, and Clerk Sherri Waege.

AGENDA VERIFICATION

                Clerk Waege verified that on August 7, 2020, copies of the agenda were delivered to the President and Trustees; and posted at the Village Hall, Library, and the Farmers & Merchant’s Bank.  There were no additions made to the agenda.

MINUTE APPROVAL

                Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Knox to approve the minutes of the July 27, 2020 Regular Board Meeting.  Motion carried.

CITIZENS WISHING TO BE HEARD

                Greg Landis was present and brought up the following things:   Landis thanked the Police Department for the enforcement at the four way intersection, Landis asked if the Police Department had a decibel meter that could be used for the noise created at the four way intersection from the Harley Davidson motorcycles, Landis added that he has lived there thirty years and it has gotten much worse in the last two years,  Landis asked about the weeds behind his house on the Ace Hardware property, Landis also asked about the weeds at 615 and 615 ½ W. Beloit Street.    Chief Raupp will check the weeds to see if a weed notice is warranted.   Landis asked about the status regarding allowing ATV’s on the streets.    Boyce and Knox explained that they just attended a meeting at the Town of Spring Valley that night and would fill Landis in after the meeting.

                None.

NEW BUSINESS

                Building Permit Fees.  Clerk Waege explained that there was previous discussion on simplifying the fee schedule for building permits as it is nineteen pages long.  Clerk Waege highlighted the fees which she felt should be included in the revised schedule.  Knox suggested that Clerk Waege provide the revised information to the new building inspector for his review before approval.  Motion by Knox, seconded by Boyce to table revising the Building Permit Fee schedule to the August 24, 2020 meeting.  Motion carried.

DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS

                Motion by Knox, seconded by Gerber to approve the Department Head Reports.  Motion carried.

VOUCHERS

                Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Gerber to approve the vouchers for $40,276.47.  Motion carried.

ADJOURN

                Motion by Gerber, seconded by Knox to adjourn at 7:15 p.m.  Motion carried.
