CALL TO ORDER
President Gary Phillips called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present were President Phillips, Beth Schmidt, Cami Myers-Alstat, Terry Gerber, Nikki Tuffree, and Jason Knox. Also present were Gustavo Guzman Rodriquez, Angel Jimenez, Chief Brian Raupp, and Clerk Sherri Waege. Absent was Tina Suiter-Meyers.
REQUEST TO CLOSE N. CENTER STREET
Gustavo Guzman Rodriquez and Angel Jimenez were present to request a portion on N. Center Street be closed from the W. Beloit Street intersection up to the alley at 106 N. Center Street. Guzman and Jimenez explained that they are planning a celebration for Mexican Independence Day. The event will go from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and have food vendors, cultural dance with kids, and a Spanish radio station doing a remote from Beloit. There will also be a moment of silence when the event starts to honor the 20 year anniversary of 9-11. Motion by Knox, seconded by Tuffree to close the section of N. Center Street from the intersection of W. Beloit Street up to the alley at 106 N. Center Street on Saturday, September 11th. Motion carried. The Public Works Department will fence off the area on Saturday morning to allow time for set up.
OUTSIDE CONSUMPTION
Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Gerber to accept the Police Committee Recommendation to allow outside consumption for Gustavo Guzman for the Mexican Independence Day event on Saturday, September 11th in the closed/fenced area on N. Center Street from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Motion carried.

Motion by Gerber, seconded by Knox to adjourn at 7:09 p.m. Motion carried.

Beth Schmidt reminded everyone of all the events taking place in the Village on Saturday, September 11th. The last Market Day of 2021 will be held, the Parkview FFA will have their annual mum sale at the Market Day, the Airing of The Quilts will be taking place downtown and at Purdy Park. The Orfordville Community Quilts of Gratitude will be presenting three quilts to recognize Chief Brian Raupp, Officer Jeremiah Burdick, and Fire Chief Gene Wright at 1:00 p.m. at Purdy Park. Quilts of Valor will also be presenting local Veterans Gene Matthewson and Kevin Wellnitz with quilts to show appreciation for their service.
Taqueria Guzman will then have their Mexican Independence Celebration beginning at 3:00 p.m. on N. Center Street.
